Gives a summary of Pagan, Christian and even of Masonic symbolic meaning of the different creatures, and how each animal resembles a virtue of Christ. The Symbol is nothing else than a means to express a truth.

This work was a five-hundred-pages book about the castles of Loudun . In fact, at the beginning of the s, Christian symbolism revival was essentially related to the currents rediscovering the spirituality of the Sacred Heart, subject-matter - especially after the publication of the encyclical Haurietis Aquas by Pius XII, on 15th May , - of sharp interpretations about the relationship between theology and symbolism .
