And not just because we went in winter. This is a beautiful restaurant. A very "seen and be seen" kinda place. Went on a Saturday night and was very crowded so definitely recommend reservations. After you try the food you realize the hype is justified

Tha ambience was lovely, service was exceptional and everything we ordered tasted amazing. I will defining be back to try more things on the menu. The drinks were also good and decently priced. Obviously very few people were out due to COVID so it was much quieter than it normally would have been. Food was yummy. Drinks could have been a little stronger. Our first time eating here was excellent! Food was great! Will definitely come back. The food is amazing, wonderful staff, awesome drinks and beautiful decor.
The food at Buddakan is deliciously memorable! You will be craving this place after you leave!! Belated birthday dinner after a disappointing one at a midtown restaurant. Not our first time at this restaurant and the food didn't disappoint. Dim sum for 2, Lamb chops, lobster fried rice and broccoli All perfect! Interesting beginning to the meal. Server seemed overwhelmed and the restaurant was no where near capacity.
But the food was tasty and well executed. Buddakan was amazing. Cool vibe and excellent food and drinks! The lobster fried rice was a favorite. Amazing space where you'd never expect it to be.
The food is inventive and meant to be shared. The wait staff made excellent suggestions for food and drink, and were attentive and friendly without being intrusive or overly familiar. Our portions were right-sized. The dishes themselves came at a good pace, and we were never rushed. Try the lobster fried rice. Such a beautiful and grandiose restaurant. It was quite an experience.
The food was maxing and the service was outstanding. Nice date night spot or girls night out. Dont forget to try the lobster egg rolls. We had a wonderful evening celebrating at Buddakan. The staff was informed and attentive and the food was delicious. We waited 10 minutes before anyone came over to say hello to us or to take our order. At that point I knew everything we wanted. After our order was taken we only saw our server again when we were done eating.
The food usually is pretty amazing, but this time the lobster rice was super dry and flavorless. Also, all food was lukewarm. Really horrible experience for the price paid. It's a great experience. A little loud and expensine, but amazing vibe, food and service. Def would come back. I loved everything about this restaurant.
El resto es como estar en un closet. A memorable evening! Great cuisine and phenomenal dining spaces. The manager visited our table to be sure all was well and Carolina, our server, was delightful.
We'll be back!! The food was a bit lack luster but the service was good and the dim lighting f and ambience was also good. We had an exciting time and enjoyed the food immensely. The ambiance was very special and perfect for my brother's 50'th birthday. Employees seem very prejudice. Atmosphere service def affordable just an Awsome experience!!!!
Get the smoked sea bass!!!! Peking duck is a must. The place and service was amazing. Second time and always seem to impress. Love this place, but I could do without people using flashes to photograph their food.
Biggest concerns— Sake served in regular tumblers and chopsticks without holders really drops the quality of hospitality. Menu is imaginative and staff is great! Overall its really poor. Nothing to do with the old famous buddakan. Really bad food, seems like a massive restaurant. Otherwise a great experience and interesting restaurant, but the food did not quite meet with our expectations.
A bit dark and noisy place for us. Tasting menu was pretty awesome. Great great great. Our first table was in a long narrow empty room facing the bus area. The reservation was for 6pm. Most of the restaurant was empty at that time. It was nice to be moved to the larger room when we complained. The meal and service made up for the annoyance of complaining for better seating. Second trip to New York and this is still my favorite restaurant! Beautiful venue, delicious food; reasonably priced for the area and the quality, lovely friendly service.
Unique menu items inspired by Asian cuisine. Fresh and flavorful. Interesting architecture. Altogether it makes for a special experience in dining.
As always Buddakan is one of the best restaurants in the city. Food is consistently amazing. Service is great. It never disappoints!
Fantastic food! Everything that we ordered was just amazing as always.. Banana cheesecake off the charts!!! Service was good. Ambiance was ok.. Literally exceeded expectations in every area! I will definitely be back for date night. Booked table for 9pm. Waited in bar for 30 mins for table. This seems standard as there were lots of waiters walking around looking for people to sit at the tables. Not too sure of this system and it wasn't communicated exactly what was going on hence we felt a bit forgotten and anxious.
Not the best entrance to a restaurant! When we sat we were informed it was tapas style - it comes out when ready, not all at once. The food was quite speedy. The starters were good.
Shrimp, Thai basil and sweet chili. Three pieces per order. Sweet soy, green apple and jalapeno. Four pieces per order. Carrots, shiitake mushrooms and scallion.
Tha ambience was lovely, service was exceptional and everything we ordered tasted amazing. I will defining be back to try more things on the menu. The drinks were also good and decently priced.
