One of my favourite books about growing up. About an adopted boy trying to fit into his new life, who falls in love with his neighbour.

Chock full of adventures and good clean fun. Set in the West Indies, it describes a somewhat typical childhood about growing up in the islands. View 1 comment. I loved this book, i remember having to use it for literature in my first year at high school.

When I read this book I could actually imagine all the fun and adventures he had the good old days when you had the river to bath in the summer. The book is lovely it give you a feeling of living in the country Caribbean style.
