To demonstrate the correct theoretical apprehending of diagnostic evaluation, main therapeutic procedures and postoperative management of the patient affected with diseases covered during lessons in both Vascular and General Surgery. The course of General Surgery is aimed at giving to the students the basic notions on the most important and common surgical pathologies. At the end of the course, the student will be able to correctly identify the main aspects of the surgical patient, understand the indications to surgical treatment and will know the principal surgical techniques, including their complications and long-term outcomes. These knowledges and competences are required to the student for a correct and critical approach to the surgical patient in the pre, intra and post-operative period. The lectures will describe the most common clinical situation of surgical interest which must be identified by the the student in order to give an adequate care to the patient.
