Since I work in the Global Education and Workforce Division at Educational Testing Service, a nationally recognized private nonprofit organization devoted to educational measurement and research. I have had experience and senior level insights into the cultures, strategy, business practices and operating models in each of these organizations.

Provide overall leadership for business development initiatives in the the Global Education Division and develop partnerships with relevant stakeholders to support ETS growth and mission.

Lead the strategic planning and execution of global business development roadmaps that result in increase in strategic relations and alliances as well as in substantial growth in the use of ETS assessment tools for higher education institutions and individual learners.

Represented ETS to the respective educational communities, bringing market intelligence regarding trends and developments in the higher education space and facilitated proactive interactions with colleges and universities in order to create innovative solutions to 21st century educational challenges.

Chaired and led the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, the largest academic unit in the School of International Letters and Cultures at Arizona State University, with majors, minors and over 60 teaching graduate assistants and associates. Developed a successful and comprehensive strategic plan for Spanish and Latin American Studies, working with interdisciplinary faculty and researchers and building strong undergraduate and graduate programs that led to high recognition in the graduate area with the Spanish Ph.

As President of the College Senate I chaired the representative body of the academic units from each School, Institutes and Centers, which consisted of all tenure and tenure-track faculty, academic professionals and full-time contract faculty at the College. I also had director responsibility and oversight for five different graduate programs within the School of International Letters and Cultures and aligned them with other graduate programs in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Provided students with high quality teaching while also publishing a robust body of scholarly books and research articles that allowed me to become a recognized world-class scholar in my field Late 19th century cultural and literary studies.

Along with teaching and research duties, I also served the Department, the College and the University with multiple managerial and administrative duties, chairing and serving in numerous committees with extensive professional development and activities. Taught courses at the Department of Foreign Languages dealing with Spanish language at all levels, courses on advanced Spanish Peninsular literature, culture and civilization. Also taught advanced courses dealing with Latin American literatures and cultures.

Wrote several scholarly articles on Spanish and Latin American literature as well as critical editions and scholarly books. Served and chaired different commitees for the Department and the College of Arts and Sciences. Core advanced classes in accounting, strategy, management, finance, human resources, marketing, global and business law. Management training is at the heart of this MBA curriculum, with a focus on leadership, planning, business strategy, organizational behavior, and other aspects on innovation and logistics.

Focus in international business and the responsibilities and corporate accountability of businesses within different communities. Doctoral work in several romance languages including the French, Italian, Portuguese and Lusophone traditions with specialization in the Spanish and Latin American literatures and cultures.

Along with practical training in teaching both language and literature courses, courses and research seminars were fulfilled around interdisciplinary work, including history, philosophy, psychoanalysis, film studies, gender studies, literary theory, literary history, and philology.

Specialization in Hispanic poetic studies with broad context of Modernist authors and other textual, literary and cultural productions, ranging from the canonical to alternative modes. Developed knowledge and critical thinking skills on traditional and modern approaches to literatures and cultures while receiving preparation for successful careers in education, administration, interpretation, and translation in diverse public and private institutions.

Specialization on Modern and Contermporary Hispanic literatures and cultures. Nationally renowned degree, both in the field of Spanish Language studies and in the field of Hispanic Literature. Few colleagues possess his sense of how innovation is unfolding in the wider world or his avid imparting of that wisdom to the rest of us. In addition to these highly valuable contributions of connections and competence on such critical subjects as distance education and competency based credentialing, Alberto is a gracious and kind colleague whom I feel very lucky to have met in just the last few years.

For this reason, his studies on modernismo are among the most admired and cited. Even while Chair of his Department, he never stopped working and providing new dimensions to our understanding of the literature of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

He provides overall leadership for business development initiatives and academic outreach in Global and Higher Education. Prior to joining ETS in , he spent nearly twenty years at various universities and graduate programs across the United States. He graduated in Hispanic Philology at the University of Barcelona. He was named to Dean's Faculty Fellow. At Arizona State University he worked at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and received significant experience with curriculum policy, development, and program review. He led a top undergraduate and graduate academic unit at Arizona State University and also directed several other graduate programs within the School of International Letters and Cultures and working directly with the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Dean of the Graduate College, and the Provost Office. He also led projects on academic excellence for faculty in the midst of an innovative model in higher education called the "New American University.
